Signs of Emergence is the blog of the book published by Emersion, a collaboration between Emergent and Baker. The book was originally released in the UK as The Complex Christ. You can read a full list of endorsements and reviews here, but suffice to say that people have been really nice about it so far.
So if you're interested in Christianity, but a bit fed up with the Church, if you want to read about the connection between faith and complexity theory, about Jesus and dirt, about cities and gift practice and why both Judas and Jesus were Tricksters, then I'm sure you'd enjoy it.
As I write in the postscript, it's a short book by an amateur. I'm not a 'professional' Christian or ivory-tower academic. I teach Math in a London High School. I've written on education and self-organization for various organizations, and was a founder member of Vaux - 'a community of artists and city-lovers exploring an spirituality of the city.'
As I also write, it's not a book with all the answers. But it does suggest that together, in collaboration, we can work things out. So have a read, and interact with the site. I look forward to hearing from you.
